Got a chance to read the issue this morning (that's what happens when you have a 6AM alarm, but a cat who wants breakfast at 5...), and I enjoyed the issue, as I have pretty much every issue of the series. Very consistant work on this mag, all around. I have no interest in WWH so while I wasn't thrilled with HFH being the standard-bearer for it, at least the story ended up being only tangentially connected to the "event" series. Humbug's whole shift of character is a little disturbing, but in a good way, a dramatic way. Same with Misty's confessional session and Shang-Chi's secret, which carried the issue in my count. Hopefully Shang will stick around for a while... I make the same hope for the series in general. The scenes with Col and Moon-Boy made me hope that Devil Dinosaur would show up and stomp the heck out of the Hulk, but as awesome as that would be it seems unlikely. I liked the backup quite a bit. Felt like we got two really meaty stories for the price of one -- a real bargain when a lot of times lately Marvel has given us less than a whole story for the price of one. She does seem to get the : most sexy poses of the quartet for what it's : worth. : : WARBOUND: are getting more character : attention than the other crossover titles. : Especially Miek and Brood Queen and their : independent evil plots. Even though we'll : probably never see any of 'em again after : WWH, their story is building and revolves : totally around Humbug which makes it : entertaining. : : BACKUP: The first was real good but liked : the backup possibly more. The stand off. : Scorpion's origin details. Paladin's : motivations. Agents Nagayoshi and Anya. : Carmilla's tough choice. Tbolts continuity. : The devised Hulk solution. The eyeballs.
