HUMBUG: is still very intriguing. His wild card factor shows here with the shocking decisions and hidden thought processes he's going thru. His crush on Colleen had a bit of antsy(pun intended) factor in the past but now his rebound with the Brood Queen is downright creepy. SHANG CHI: is so cool.. He killed in combat... frequently?? I did not know that! His whole confession, atonement and recent history makes him NOW a hero worthy to aspire to act like. His recent slip ups is what classic Marvel drama is all about. Looking forward to seeing if he stays true. TARANTULA: is basically just a sounding board this time. She's had a wild card factor in the beginning but seems the most expendable. And if you don't believe me just ask Buck. KNIGHT: is given a nice prison cell scene. Her self recrimination is justified and so true. A team of punchers - HA! Good one. Still, can't help but feel sorry for her. WING: is still looking too much like Dagger for my tastes. And playing too much of the dumb blonde. Why is she so attached to Moon Boy? Why did she never spare Humbug his pain? Why did she make that crazy selfless act at the end if she didn't want it to work? Duh. BLACK CAT: is basically just a sounding board this time. She does seem to get the most sexy poses of the quartet for what it's worth. WARBOUND: are getting more character attention than the other crossover titles. Especially Miek and Brood Queen and their independent evil plots. Even though we'll probably never see any of 'em again after WWH, their story is building and revolves totally around Humbug which makes it entertaining. BACKUP: The first was real good but liked the backup possibly more. The stand off. Scorpion's origin details. Paladin's motivations. Agents Nagayoshi and Anya. Carmilla's tough choice. Tbolts continuity. The devised Hulk solution. The eyeballs. Of monsters and men. ALL IN ONLY 7 PAGES! --Previous Message--

Was anticipating a bit of an inside surprise and/or bonus in regards to the art. Nada. Still solid and consistent, as last issue was, but was hoping for a little bit of a wow-factor. The facial expressions were good. And drawing aliens is harder to do badly compared to recognizable humans. The far away shots and alien (non)background added perspective though at the cost of less aesthetic details. The 'toturous' *rhe* hosing down may've been more menacing with tighter shots :-p ...
: ... and the world did not, in fact, explode.
: I guess the Internets has moved on to other
: comic books to be outraged at and have
: forgotten about little ole HFH .
:
: I took one look at the cover yesterday and
: laughed my butt off. The idea of the HFH
: girls being all a-skarit of some big alien
: tentacle-beastie was too funny. Didn't get
: a chance to read it as I was working all
: night, but I am looking forward to checking
: it out tonight.
