This book continues to please me, as usual. Somehow, the writers pull off a mixture of genuinely funny stuff, tons of action and total seriousness, all at the same time. And this issue was no exception. After being blasted through the chest by the Doombot, Orka died in this issue, but not before revealing that he had feelings for Misty. Then, Shang Chi went totally bug nuts and took out every one of the Headmen all by himself, even busting up his hands in the process. This impressed Tarantula when she found out about it, and now something is brewing between the two, although I was kind of hoping something would brew between the Tarantula and the Black Cat! 8-) Oddly enough, we never found out who sent the Grim Reaper and Man Ape to blow up the Statue of Liberty and why. The trail led to Latveria, but it's too obvious to be Dr. Doom. Perhaps Lucia von Bardas is back, or perhaps it's the mysterious Veil. We will see. In any case, I like ongoing "mystery mastermind" style plots, like the ones in the old days (Mr. Kline, Master Planner, others), so I look forward to seeing more of this plot. Al Rio's artwork was fabulous as usual. Too bad he's not sticking around.
