: Well, as all of you know the first issue of
: the new "Heroes For Hire" came out
: Wednesday, starting a new era in HFH
: history. And "new era" is the
: right term.
: I thought that this issue was really well
: handled in setting up the status quo and
: origin of this team. The current MU
: situation certainly warrants their existance
: and is a good excuse to bring them together
: and bring the HFH moniker out of mothballs.
: Nighttrain, jsf, and others mentioned that
: they thought they were going for a Birds of
: Prey vibe with this book, and after reading
: it, I have to agree. Sienna's line about
: 'sex bombs" is right on the money.
: The team is an eclectic mix. Misty and
: Coleen, well, hey. Its Misty and Coleen.
: PM&IF fans like me know and love these two.
: Humbug seems like the kind of guy where its
: only a matter of time before one of the
: girls kicks him in the junk. Black Cat
: seems a little out of place, but I like her
: anyway. Palladin and Orka should be
: interesting to see once they get more screen
: How awesome is Shang-Chi? SO AWESOME!
: I don't really understand the presence of
: the new Tarantula. Why would Misty pick a
: girl she knows nothing about? Unless she
: DOES know something and isn't telling. Also
: I thought it was odd that Misty specifically
: mentioned MMA and Gracie ju-jitsu, but
: Tarantula just seemed to kick and stab
: Also, I would like to say that I bought into
: the premise in the first couple of pages
: when Misty says that she wished Luke and
: Danny were there. That little line sealed
: the deal for me, with the acknowledgement of
: the past before establishing the future.
: And the baddies? Ha! I laughed my ass off
: when Goldbug showed up! Hopefully more 70s
: villians will show up and be more of a
: threat to the team. With very few
: exceptions, I believe there are no bad
: characters, just bad utilization. (Yes, Mr.
: Fish is one of those exceptions.)
: Overall a very fun read and I am definitely
: looking forward to see where this series
: goes in the future!
