Posted by Luke Well this year, cash was a little tight so I didn't buy anything (save my pulls for the week, "Infinite Crisis" and "Annihilation: Silver Surfer"), but I did get my full compliment of free comics, including one by Bongo called the "Bongo Comics Free-For-All!" Now, I know you are saying "But Luke, Bongo publishes "The Simpsons" and "Futurama!" That has no bearing on this board!" Well you've got some never, mister. Anyway, you're wrong! The last segment of the book features Carl and Lenny as a pair of superheroes, and is dubbed: "Nuclear Power Man and Iron Foot: Heroes For Rent Or Lease To Own!" The short 5 page tale details how Nuclear Power Man (a hulking Carl in Cage's classic costime, with the shirt being green instead of yellow) and Iron Foot (Lenny in a blue and yellow take on Danny's costume) came to have their powers, and features the menace of Disco Stu as the flamethrower weilding DISCO INFERNO! This story, though very short, had me laughing my butt off. Great stuff for any old school Heroes For Hire fans out there! If you didn't pick it up on Saturday, see if your local retailer has any copies still floating around and snag it! (The rest of the book is very amusing as well, and each segment deals with comic books in some way -- either through superheroics or actual comics.)

As many of you may know, this past Saturday was Free Comic Book Day 2006. I always make it a point to head to the shop for FCBD, not just for the free funnybooks, but because there usually are some good sales going on. 152
