Both marriages of Adelaide Jane are posted in the new novascotiagenealogy.com site. The first indicates that she was born at Bay of Islands to John and Elizabeth. John was a fisherman. ( My John was a shoemaker.) She was married on 27 Dec. 1870 at age 20 in Halifax in a Catholic ceremony. Michael Kaye was 22, a mariner, born in Gloucester, U.S. but living in Guysborough at the time. He was the son of Thomas and Ellen.( Book 1815 p. 171 line # 424)
Her second marriage is in Book 1814 p. 73 line # 65 as taking place at St. Francis Harbour where she was living. She is a 27 year old widow. George Joseph Carr, 27, fisherman, son of William and Ellen, living in St. Francis Harbour. This marriage took place on 6 Aug. 1876. Witnesses: Patrick Kay and Cath.. Diggins. The " Cath" was difficult to read.
