Jennifer: I've uncovered conflicting info re: Mason/Taylor union. A note from a deceased uncle refers to Mary Ann's father as John while another family member referred to him as James Arthur Mason. One of Mary Ann's children was named James Arthur, so it gets confusing. I cannot find John Taylor listed in the 1881 census, so am at a stalemate for now.
