John Flemming was the son of Oliver Flemming of Ireland. John petitioned for land in Charlos cove, ns June 25/1819, which was part of Hales grant of 200 acres. His christian name may have been Thomas, but he went by John. by 1838 he was living in Newdy Quoddy. He was lost at sea with his sons george and Thomas. Johns and marys children were: Elizabeth (married a Whippey); Catherine (m Thomas Nowlan 23dec1834; Charles b1825d1905 m agnes farnell ( may have also been called john); alexander b17jan1833;george b9Oct1845; Thomas;Oliver;Mary m 1-James Dean, 2-james pace; Charlotte b 1863 m John Burgoyne 13may1883.
