Posted by chris cook From your research, when was the first Capt Joe, born? When and how old was he when he died? Mr. Rick Hadley is under the impression he was born 1730? Is that correct, or is that a son? I see you state his son was married in 1767. Were you aware of the connection of his residence with the French. This is exceptionally intriguing, I think you'd enjoy Mark Haynes book "the Forgotten Battle" as it discusses extensively what was happening on the land the Capt Joe settled, and the house where he was living. We found a neck off a wine bottle there, dated to the 1750's. I'd love to have a copy of the Hadley research to donate to the Guysborough Historical Society, as we have a lot of researchers, and the Hadley name keeps coming up. Thanks
