On Tuesday, November 13, 1883, my great-grandfather, Capt. Matthew Rorke (O'Rourke) was washed overboard from the banking schooner, JW Roberts and drowned. The crew managed to bring the schooner into Whitehead, Nova Scotia, November 16. If anyone is going to the Nova Scotia archives and has the time and is so inclined, I would appreciate it if that person could look up the local or area newspapers in the days following this event and transcribe the text for me. The story may be spread over more than one day. Any help is greatly appreciated.
