He left the Hernani title to his distant cousin Infanta Margarita, but not the Ansola title.
AFAIK, Infanta Margarita never used the Hernani title, using only the title she received when she got married, the ducal title of Soria.
Infanta Margarita had two children, Alfonso and Maria de Zurita y de Borbon.
When the Infanta will pass away, the Soria title will revert to the crown/become extinct and Alfonso will inherit only the Hernani title.
Alfonso is single and has no children of his own, so the title will pass to his sister Maria.
Maria is single and has a son, Carlos, born of IVF.
Naturally, when the basis of the succession of titles was created, nobody spoke of IVF.
My question is: Can Carlos ever succeed his mother in the Hernani title ?
If not, and given that succession titles are gender-free these days, I guess the title will pass to the line of Infanta Pilar, to her first born child, Simonetta Gomez-Acebo and then to her eldest son Luis, correct ?
