I think your point about the timing of the local and national elections and the timing of this removal of the Primo de Rivero remains may possibly point to a calculation by the current national government to "take care of unfinished business" while they still have time. And as far as your question about reversal of the decisions and the Democratic Memory Law by a future PP government - really, what would be the practical benefit? After all, the nobiliary titles granted during Franco and early JC periods are unlikely to be given back. And of course, their "hero tombs" in the Valley of Fallen have now been moved to less controversial sites. On a side note, while looking further into the Wikipedia listings for the Francos/Primo de Rivero titles, I noted also that the former second "duchess" has taken the step to claim that the removal of title was somehow invalid. Of course, you realise that any person or heir of a Wiki listing can claim just about anything about themselves....Wiki doesn't arbitrate in legal disputes or assertions.

Spain is facing a general election next July, after the defeat of PSOE in the local elections last week-end.
It is predictable that the PP will win the general election.
Has the PP any position on the Democratic Memory Law ? Do they support it ? Will they abolish it ? Will they just let things as they are ?
