The GHdA has also ceased publication. Its 2015 replacement is yet another German series: GGH (Gothaisches Genealogisches Handbuch). Not at all sure that the increasingly Germanocentric Gotha or its successors can be relied on for proper ranking of princes. See for instance Fra Cyril Toumanoff's 1985 article "Genealogical Imperialism." Also, there is the 1950 dissertation of the late Jean duc d'Arenberg, "The lesser princes of the Holy Roman Empire in the Napoleonic era." He exposes the absurdity of the whole mediatization 'process' and its contradictory standards that soon infected the Almanach de Gotha.
