I was surprised to see Queen Sofia attending this funeral, especially considering she does not like the Orleans. I do not if reliable, but I have read that she was to attend with King Juan Carlos, bit he did not show up. Infanta Pilar would have been a good option, but she is having some health problems. She attended the funeral of the late Countess of Paris.
I'm surprised not to see the Duke of Braganza or Prince Michael of Greece. And also such a high representation from the Spanish RF especially Queen Sofía.
Kinda surprised not to see more representatives from the Balkan RF's - other than Prince Lela - normally the non - reigning families seem to stick together
At the time of the CoP's death it was reported that his wife Pss. Micaela was hospitalized.
No news about the causes or if she was able to return home.
Among the presents, it was reported that the Count's first wife, the Duchess of Montpensier, mother of his children, attended the funeral.
