On the same occasion the Duke of Calabria conferred the rank of Bailiff Grand Cross of Justice in the Sacred and Military Constantinian Order of Saint George upon His Excellency Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager, Grand Chancellor of the Order of Malta, and upon His Excellency Prince and Count Dominique de la Rochefoucauld-Montbel, Grand Hospitaller of the Order.
I am not sure to what extent this marks an ongoing change in the foreign policy of the Order of Malta. The two immediate predecessors of Fra' Giacomo as Prince and Grand Master were also members of the Order of Saint Januarius - but by bestowal of the Dukes of Castro.
Since 2004 the current Duke of Castro has been a Bailiff Grand Cross of Honour and Devotion of the Order of Malta (the rank usually given to heads of royal houses). His wife the Duchess of Castro is a Dame Grand Cross of Honour and Devotion.
Since 2010 the Duke of Calabria has also been a Bailiff Grand Cross of Honour and Devotion. His eldest son the Duke of Noto was made a Knight of Honour and Devotion in 2016 by the Grand Master himself.
