An Heir to Brazil’s Monarchy Enters the Political Ring (America's Quarterly)
The article is a little out of date since we now know that Dom Luiz Philippe will not be the vice-presidential running mate for Jair Bolsonaro.
For those who don't have the genealogy of the Orléans e Bragança family memorized, Dom Luiz Philippe is the genealogically most senior nephew of Dom Luiz Gastao, head of the "Vassouras" branch - but he is not a Brazilian dynast since his father Dom Eudo renounced his Brazilian rights before his marriage (if such a future renunciation is legal). Dom Luiz Philippe continues to be a French dynast for both the legitimists and the orleanists - but since he is not a French national he is not a prince du sang.
