I also notice the personality differences between father and son when they greet the visiting dignitaries. J.C. is definitely very much a Borbon, he jokes and gives hugs, what the Spaniards call "campechano". Felipe is more reserved, more Germanic--just a simple handshake. His choice of wife might not have pleased everyone, but he definitely demonstrates a keen understanding of his role as King of a country that is very difficult both to reign in and to govern.
