I just read that the elegant and stylish Argentinian First Lady Juliana Awada is the first First Lady of Argentina to receive the distinction of the Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic in 70 years and the second in history after Eva Perón in 1947.
My question is what are the merits for granting the order? Why would a First Lady receive the collar of the Order versus the grand cross for example?
Perhaps I am wrong, but I would think given that the First Lady has relatively young tenure as First Lady and had done nothing substantial on the world stage that it would be a bit premature to give her the highest order.
