This argument carries little substance, when you consider the fact that Aloys was born later (June) in the same year as Felipe (January 1968). As it is, Sophie (born October 1967) is only a few months older than the latter.

She may not have mingled with other royals before Philippe. But consider the people that the Liechtensteinian princes have mingled with -- foreigners (Maximilian being married to a commoner). And considering Mathilde's high birth, it's not inconceivable for her to have somehow crossed paths with Aloys. But I guess it wasn't meant to be ...
