A big unspoken part in this has always been played by the Duchess de Montpensier, whose extreme Catholic views and role as victim have allowed Mare Therese to manipulate her children, just as she manipulated, for many years, her own parents in law.
It is incomprehensible that the Heir of House would act this way toward the Head of House France.
