PdV has the story this week.
The Count left his wife and children full stop.
He had hardly any contact with them and he did not support his own family in finantial terms.
It was the late Count of Paris who took the family under his wing, and, according to the Duke of Vendôme, he even wanted custody of his grand-children, which the Countess of Clermont proudly refused.
François and Blanche were kept in private religious institutions, paid by the late CoP.
Giving François and Blanche a title was nothing much, after years of abandon, lack of attention and any kind of support.
