It may all be just rumor, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if there was some basis for truth: I predicted, from the beginning, that the royal couple's marriage wouldn't last. After all, it was founded on a sham -- as Caroline was a homewrecker, who married E-A in a shotgun wedding (being already pregnant at the time).
It was only a matter of time before the two would eventually drift apart -- that the initial infatuation or romantic attraction would eventually fade away (it's difficult to see that the two even were friend, to start with).
