I would never attend a birth. I prefer the oldfashioned way: drinking a port in the salon and then being informed that a child has been born.

Then I would go upstairs and see my nicely cleaned wife, give her bonbons and nice jewels and see what the new sprout looks like.

Personally I find that more respectful towards my wife, than watching her lying there in all her vulnerability. And of course also to prevent myself for fainting while witnessing the scenes.

Not so long ago this was normal procedure. Now I see tv-crews witnessing births for real life progams.

Of course women are the stronger sexe. But the point was that since ancient times nobility was a very pro-male system. Unequal and discriminatory. All true. But so be it.
