Henri has given a useful information.
Grandee of Spain (Grande de España) is a category in the Spanish nobility. All Dukes are Grandees, while other titles can be with or without Grandeeship. The category or dignity was created by Carlos I of Spain, aka Emperor Karl V, before his coronation as Emperor. Creating that category, he wanted to give the most prominent noble families a rank similar to the Princes of the Empire.
