The attendance of the entire Spanish Royal Family was a remarkable sign of support, however it must also have added a certain degree of additional stress and worry for those organising the funeral as the attendance of the King and Queen understandably requires certain decorum to be followed.
I don't think there were
: any Royal Family members present at the
: service for The Countess of Wessex's mother
: (other than the Earl of Wessex). Can you
: imagine if your mother died and none of your
: in-laws came to the service? I guess with
: the British royals, they are royals first
: and family second.
The father and late mother of the Countess of Wessex have been guests of the Queen on a number of occasions such as Ascot over the years.
I suspect having the British Queen turn up to your wife's funeral might actually detract from what is actually being done i.e. the celebration of the deceased's life.
