Donations over the Phone

Sorry...I posted this in 2 different locations. I got a call last night wanting me to donate, and he wanted my credit card number over the phone. Is that legitimate? His name was Ronnie Mullins if that's any help. I did donate and after the fact, I hoped I didn't do something stupid by giving out my number....which I won't again. I'll do it via mail next time. I just want to know if this is legit so I can take action or put my mind at ease. Thank you.
