The book is useful as a introduction to the Habsburgs. It is full of interesting insights. However, it disappointed me. Rady seems to have no clear idea of what topics to cover. He seems to love architecture and that features heavily in the book. This means that important subjects, such as Napoleon are barely mentioned. It's a book I won't be re-reading in the near future.
