The Royal Family includes those people who are royal. What makes someone a Royal? The title and style they have.
Outside HM the Queen that means all those who are entitled to an HRH and are prince or princess of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
that means:
HRH prince Philip
HRH prince Charles
HRH princess Charles (better known as Camilla)
HRH prince William
HRH princess William (Catherine)
HRH prince George
HRH princess Charlotte
HRH prince Louis
HRH prince Harry
HRH princess Harry (Meghan)
HRH prince Andrew
HRH princess Beatrice
HRH princess Eugenie
HRH prince Edward
HRH princess Edward (Sophie)
HRH princess Louise (better known as lady Louise Windsor)
HRH prince James (known as viscount Severn)
HRH princess Anne
HRH prince Richard
HRH princess Richard
HRH prince Edward (duke of Kent)
HRH princess Edward
HRH prince Michael
HRH princess Michael
HRH princess Alexandra
Those are the members of HM's family with a royal title and style. Many of them go by a different title but they all are by birth or by marriage a prince or princess of the realm. So they are the Royal Family. HM's family also includes other relatives and descendants who are in line of succession and some of them go before members of the Royal Family but it does not alter the fact that those listed above are the only people in the UK who are Royals of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
Burkes is a privately owned business with no more authority in the area of the Royal Family that "Johnnies' Irish Handjobs"!
I have repeatedly explained how, in the absence of any definitive statement, I have looked to the Queen's practice.
But since you have decided to pretend to be obtuse, I'll repeat it one more time:
Throughout the 1970s the Queen had photographs published to commemorate Royal events in which all of the descendants of the sons of George V were represented. She continues to invite those people to an annual lunch which is universally described as a Royal Family Christmas lunch. Moreover she has not invited her Bowes-Lyons cousins to these lunches, thereby indicating that these are not just 'family' lunches, but Royal Family lunches.
But, you know, apparently you and Daniel know better than the Queen. Because of, "on-line sources" and all that.
Can either of you actually respond to the SUGGESTIONS that I am making?
