Those of us who have solid Catholic educations know the process of instituting sainthood, when done properly, takes time in order to head-off the prospect of unpleasant surprises and questionable canonizations. For the martyr St. Joan of Arc, it took almost almost 500 years. For Blessed Karl and almost all others, many years. The Church is timeless and normally does not rush for good reason. Yes, saints don't have to be perfect, but the process of cannonization *is* normally quite perfect in its lengthy, deliberate, thorough and painstaking vetting process.
