In Portugal, up to the mid 19th century the period is called Regeneration, meaning the period that followed the liberal/miguelist wars and the industrial development of the country, arrival of the train, industrialization, stronger relations with the african colonies after the loss of Brazil.
With D.Luis and D.Carlos the times are usually referred to as Romantic or Belle Époque as Johann wrote.
Nothing to do with Victorian or Edwardian.
