: In Belgian and Luxemburg the rulers
: had been told who calls the last shot. Maybe
: the Lichtensteins should learn that lesson
: too. Funny that these questions only came up
: with catholic monarchs. Anyway, we will see
: what the Lichtenstein population will vote
: for. It is their decision.
Cabri shows her ignorance of the Constitution of the Principality of Liechtenstein.
According to the constitution the final say is not with the Liechtenstein population, but with the reigning prince - that is exactly why this referendum was held.
With this and every other referendum (as with any law passed by parliamentary vote), the reigning prince has the right to refuse his sanction. That power has not been used for over thirty years, but it is there when necessary.
The people of Liechtenstein have overwhelmingly shown their support for this system.
