I agree!
My point was rather that the elite in the societies at that point (including republican France) was so focused on confronation and militarism so I guess there would have been a war even if Franz Ferdinand hadnīt been shot. And one canīt suggest that any of the more important monarchs of the era was democrats. The monarchs in the monarchies that survived ww1 accepted democracy, but they were hardly convinced.
