And this case differs, at least I understand it, from the "normal" veto power that many heads of state enjoy over legislation. In this instance, the Prince actually has the power to veto the result of a referendum, in which the people have expressed themselves directly and not through representatives. I find that troubling. (I would normally add a caveat that my view is unimportant as this is a matter for the people of the state concerned to decide, but apparently they do not have that ability.
