: I have been informed by Sue Woolmans that Paul
: Minet, proprietor of the late Piccadilly
: Rare Books shop in Ticehurst, long-time
: publisher of the late Royalty Digest and of
: reprints of rare books on royalty, and
: founder of the annual Royalty Weekend, has
: died peacefully after a long illness which
: he fought valiantly. He was a very colorful
: character, with a fantastic knowledge of not
: only royalty but the book business,
: Huguenots and Greece, among other subjects.
: Many of us with an interest in royalty will
: be forever in his debt for his many
: contributions to our "hobby." He
: is survived by his wife Sheila. Strange and
: poignant that he should die on the day of
: the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. May he rest in
: peace.
:
: (Note to Dag: I also posted this on
: Robert's British Board. I hope the
: duplication is okay in this case as I
: thought some people with an interest in
: continental royalty but not British might be
: interested as well.)
I am terribly sorry to hear this news - I never met Mr. Minet, but had contact with him from time to time by mail - thanks for bringing the news to our attention.
