: The former king of Romania is due to address
: parliament in Bucharest for the first time
: since he was forced to abdicate in 1947.
:
: King Michael I - who will reportedly be
: sitting on a special throne-like chair -
: will be speaking ahead of ceremonies marking
: his 90th birthday
:
: The BBC News site has updated the article.
: The King received a standing ovation from
: many of the MPs, but some Government
: Ministers and President Traian Basescu,
: refused to attend the event.
The King was invited by the Parliament, so I suppose the presence of any other people would have been optional.
