I will definitely read this book, now that it has been recommended. (Always good to hear other people's opinions as to whether a particular book is worth reading or not...
)
In the meantime, I have read a little about the four princesses in various reference works (online and on paper), and I must say the fate of Princess/Grand Duchess Elisabeth, both the way she led her life after the murder of her husband and the circumstances of her own death, struck me as very moving. A lot easier, I must say, to feel sympathy for her than for her little sister Alix (who was murdered less than 24 hours earlier) ...
