but surely compensation can be claimed?
If the state or its historical forerunner steals something, surely its new incarnation has a legal and moral responsibility to compensate the person it was stolen from.
I can't believe some ambitious young lawyer keen to make a name hasn't challenged this on behalf of an impoverished former royal house.

: It has more to with the fact that it was
: taklen away between 1945-1949. According to
: the laws passed before the Unitiy in 1990
: place/propertytaken away during this time
: don't have to given back.
: And as many other Families (like the saxon
: Royals) the Hohenzollern had the bad luck

: I'm sure a nice compensation package similar
: to that which King Michael of Romania
: recieved, would have been much appreciated.

: I doubt it. The palace was the location for
: the Potsdam conference after WWII so has a
: new meaning to the Germans.
: It could however very well be a possible
: location for GF's weddingreception. All
: depends on the choices of the couple.
