in one sense.
In another sense, everybody should know that Victoria descends directly, via several proven lineages, from the Folkunga royal dynasty - which has not died out in that sense.
On the other hand, since the 1200s monarchs of the dynasty pof Folkunge DO have descendants today, it is inevitable that most -if not all- of Swedish population (including Daniel Westling) is their descendants - most however cannot prove their precise lineage from the Folkunge but that does not mean such would not exist.
So, the joke was actually not even a lie....
