now that several people abroad have used the scandinavian exclamation for congratulatory drink,
perhaps some would want to know that
the skool (skål) comes from an old, pretty royal tradition of Vikings: once upon a time, they made drinking cups out of skulls of fallen enemies, and then when a drink, toast, was taken, the word simply referred to their those cups. Take a skull-full of drink...
