I think there is. I have read about the Kingdom of Tavolara before. I remember that a claimant to the throne went to court to have his kingdom recognized by Italy, but I never saw anything about the outcome of it.
The King, if he could have his kingdom recognized, could probably make a fortune. Tax free zone, gambling et cetera.
If I'm not mistaken, some photographer took a picture of the Tavolarian RF in the 19th century, because the British Royal Court wanted a picture of the Royals from the World's smallest Kingdom.
