Nobody would have been in line automatically.
Norway had chosen Haakon VII and his descendants.
Knud or anyone else in the agnatic pool of Haakon VII, would just have been a kinsman, perhaps attractive to be chosen, but nothing automatic.
The proposal by the king, and the stortinget procedure, would have been used/ needed.
Norway would not have chosen a candidate who was close to succeed to another throne.

: Olav was an only son (won't debate again his
: eventual parenthood).
: Should he have died before fathering a
: child, or should his marraige have been
: childless, who would be the next in line ?
: Knud, who was by then Crown Prince of Dk, or
: any of Pr. Harald's sons ?
: Or in this case, could he have proposed any
: other person according to art. 7 of the
: Constitution ?
:
Btw, Knud was never 'Crown Prince' of Denmark. He was called 'Hereditary Prince' for some time.
