Queen Margrethe is not Queen of Denmark, but Denmark's Queen.

Margrethe den anden, af Guds Nåde Danmarks Dronning (Margrethe the Second, By the Grace of God Denmark's Queen)

The kings of Denmark has never been known as King of the Danes. Always as King TO Denmark. For centuries.

Queen Margethe got rid of the old titles. Her father was:

Frederik den Niende, af Guds Nåde Konge til Danmark, de Venders og Goters, Hertug til Slesvig, Holsten, Stormarn, Ditmarsken, Lauenborg og Oldenborg

(Frederik the Ninth, By the Grace of God King to Denmark, the Wends and Goths, Duke to Slesvig...)
