Queen Marie (Michael's grandmother) was also a grandaughter of Queen Victoria. And Michael's mother was a Princess of Greece as Prince Phillip was also a Greek prince. As children, Phillip and Michael spent many summers together. The Romanian princesses also studied in Britain and were frequent guests of the Royal Family on a personal level.
