Yes, Princess Grace was very active trying to get the annulment for her daughter's wedding. But, unfortunately for her, Caroline's case was used by the Vatican as an "example" and the annulment was not granted. Refusing the annulment, the Vatican wanted to show Catholics that marriage was something serious. That's why it was not granted during Stefano's life. I think that if Caroline had not married Stefano (we have to remember that Caroline married him because she was pregnant), the annulment would have come much earlier.

: At the time of Pr. Caroline's divorce (1980)
: there were several news-paper reports about

: How could the late princess be instrumental?
: Grace died before Caroline remarried. I know
: Grace, Ranier and Caroline wanted the
: anullement from the moment the divorce

: have given a dear thing to have prevented
: her daughter's first marriage alltogether

: Considering that Caroline went through all

: after Stefano's death can only mean that it
: was important to her.
