Actually, in some cases they do deny baptisims to certain persons. When my mother and her first husband (both catholic at the time) wanted to get my sister baptised the priest denied their request because they had a registry office wedding and were told that in they eyes of the church that my sister was illegitimate. They were in England where the catholic weddings are just as legal as any civil ceremony.
