The Prince's trip to Romania was a private one. The PoW bought some time ago some property in Romania and let them restorate (see also PoW's Property in Romania).
AFAIK, the Prince is very interested in supporting the rural heritage of the region and he wants to establish some eco-tourism there. I think, these are also topics (at least the heritage) of interest of the Crown Princess. If I read the blog correct (I don't know romanian, but it has some similarities with other languages I know), there is also a friendship between the CP's family and the PoW.
