There are numerous histories of New Sweden available, but most of what was New Sweden was on the Pennsylvania and Delaware sides of the river. The town of Swedesboro in NJ was settled afterward. Mantua comes from the INdian word - Mantee. Several decades ago King Carl XVI Gustaf visited Swedesboro, NJ.
