What did we all think of this issue? As much as I enjoyed the artist from the previous issues, it's nice to have Lafuente back. I really find his art is very indicative of the vibe that Bendis is going for.
Again, there is a heavy focus on characterisation, especially around the core characters. It's nice to have Spider-Man almost as a team book. It makes it different from the core Spider-Man series. Seeing Petes reaction to Johnny making out with Jessica was brilliant, and the girls grabbing Pete and shaving him was also fun.
Mind you, the story does take a more serious route, and I'm not sure if I like where it's going to be honest. This angle for mutants has been done to death, grabbing them for detainment etc etc etc. It's the same old thing, the idea that Morrison was trying to crawl away from in his New X-Men, and their reaction to it was to bust it into an even smaller circle - Now we're getting that in the Ultimate Universe. Maybe it can be saved, maybe it's a temporary status quo, but more likely it's just going to end up being a repeat of a repeat.
