Posted by seeker on 10/28/2007, 7:28 pm As time went on how ever his constant one-shot defeats caused some people to question him. That and some were also constantly bothered by the oversized hammer and thought it looked goofy. Even Ultimates 2 #13 did not help him with any of this. So, has your opinion of Ultimate Thor changed over the years? Personally, mine has. I admit the overall new look was interesting and I was always hesitate with the big hammer/ax. After about six years and Thor being treated like a joke I think that is what he had become. Thor's Ultimate 3 look is a bit more traditionally while maintaining Hitch's overall look. If the series ever comes out I would be interested if Thor is written as more competent. Loeb in Ultimate Powers seems to be trying to be trying to write Thor as an actual competent fighter, but we still have several months to find out or not.

Ultimate Thor started out as one of the more popular Ultimate characters. He was more "down to Earth" than classical Thor and carried an oversized weapon that is popular with the current generation (See all the big swords, guns, etc. in fantasy genre for examples). In short you got a hippie that if necessary could kick butt.
