I thought the latest issue the THE WORST YET! The dialogue was forced and unnatural. I really feel like Kirkman just doesn't get these characters. I've been reading all my back issues (just finished Cry Wolf) and I think the book was soooo good for a long time, until it started to go down hill. I think the Magical arc was where it started for me. I really hate what Kirkman is doing with the book. He's go so many different things going on (Scott running the school, Hank being alive, the new X-men, the Morlock, the MLF, the return of Fenris, and like a billion new x-characters being introduced per issue, just to name a few). This book doesn't even fit into the Ultimate line anymore. The Ultimate books were created to get rid of all the clutter and ret-conning of the 616 universe, and thats what's happening here(understandable that there would be some after 85 issues, but come on...) Not to mention the line was created to be more realistic, or as real as a comic with telepaths and adamantium claws can be, but i feel thats so far gone now. And those costumes are GOD AWFUL!! And this is all off the top of my head without even pulling out the issues and reading through to pick them apart. And yes i have thought about not picking it up anymore, but i think i will give it a little longer. Fingers crossed that Kirkman will beat it and someone better will come along and fix it.
: I'm beginning to suspect the editor on
: Ultimate X-Men needs to go. How else do you
: explain the sheer kinetic fun that infuses
: Kirkman's other works is so glaringly
: missing here? 'Course, if the title is
: getting cancelled in some Ultimate Revamp it
: won't matter. Too bad if it is. The
: All-New All-Different Ultimate X-Men are a
: much more dynamic team than who they
: replace, they have goals and things are
: accomplished, and the art has been great two
: issues in a row now! I'm actually looking
: forward to the next issue for a change!
